We’re psyched to announce the release of our brand new “Snap Your Stay” feature today. So psyched, in fact, that we’re kicking it off by sharing the love in the form of HT credits. Love those HT promo codes? Rhetorical question – of course you do. Welp, here’s another chance to snatch up those little nuggets of promo gold, all while contributing to your favorite app and maybe even becoming internet famous while you’re at it.

So, what’s Snap Your Stay? This new feature for the iPhone app lets you contribute to HotelTonight by taking pics of your HT experience and showing ‘em off to friends and other HT bookers. You can also explore and get inspired by popular booker pics in the new Photos tab, and check out even more photos from fellow bookers in the Info tab on hotel profiles.

Here’s how to jump in (and rack up those credits):

Make sure you’ve updated to the latest (and greatest) version of the iPhone app
Book a room on the app
Tap the “Bookings” tab, select your booking and then tap “Snap Your Stay”
Complete the set of 6 pics, scavenger hunt-style (grab shots of your room, view, a cool find, etc)
Share your photos via email, text message, Facebook or Twitter
Kick back, relax and enjoy the rest of your HT stay

We’ll give ya $5 in HT credits for completing the full photo set of your hotel stay (for bookings made after May 7), and we’ll kick in a bonus $5 in credits if any pics from your full set make it to the popular feed in the Photos tab. Quality and popularity are the key to landing your pics in this feed, so make sure to spread the love yourself and double-tap your favorite photos!

From “Snap Your Stay,” hit the button in the top right to share your photos via email, text message, Twitter or Facebook. You can also share your stay by going to the Account tab and then tapping “All” under “My Photos,” selecting a photo and then tapping the “…” button in the bottom right and hitting “Share This Stay.” Find a sweet, trip-inspiring set of photos by a fellow HT booker in the Photos tab? You can share those, too, by tapping a photo, then the “…” button and then “Share This Stay.”

Ready, set… go!

Credits will appear in your account 24-48 hours after your photos are posted, pending approval by the HT team.

Unlike the IRS, we’re giving everyone a refund this year. You heard us: everyone who books a room on HT for the rest of the month (April 19-30) gets a refund in HT credits in May.

Here’s how it works:

1. Download the HotelTonight app, if you don’t already have it.

2. Then, enter promo code APRILBONUS (one time for the month and you’re set)

3. When you’re ready for a great night out / weekend away / staycation / etc., load up the app again, find an amazing hotel and just book it.

Book 1 night before April 30th, get 10% back in HT credits.

Book 2 nights before April 30th, get 12% back in HT credits.

One of the most prevalent misconceptions surrounding St. Patrick’s Day (besides the horrible myth that Lucky Charms in Guinness is great way to start this hallowed day) is that you need to locate the end of a rainbow to find a Leprechaun’s pot of gold.

Oh, fools.

We know a magically delicious treat that’s been lingering in the corner or closet of your hotel room without a rainbow road. Instead, it lures you in with a tiny red beacon in the shape of a Pringles can or bottle of Grey Goose shrunken 10 times too small. It’s the minibar, folks.

Ok you’re in town for one of the NFL conference championship games, but you’re unwilling to sell your soul for a ticket to watch the game from one lousy angle. You should probably watch it on tv and you should probably watch it at one of these hotels.

Do you consider Tom Brady a living football god? And watching the game in anything but a luxuriously comfortable room would be sacrilegious? You should probably watch it at the Hotel Commonwealth.

You’ve never seen the inside of a drunk tank before? Well, you should consider starting your night there. The Liberty Hotel’s downstairs bar Alibi was the former prison’s drunk tank.

Hotel Buckminster Boston

If you’re an extreme optimist and want to get a jump on baseball season, you should probably watch the game at Hotel Buckminster. With simultaneous views of Fenway park and Baltimore’s Linebacker Ray Lewis, you’ll have your fill of monsters by night’s end.

The Georgian Terrace (Atlanta)

Want to watch the celebration riots/ homemade parades after the big win? You should probably perch yourself on the rooftop of the Georgian Terrace. With an inviting pool and 360-degree view of the city, you might not even watch the game.

During the critical days following Hurricane Sandy, we reached out to our New York City hotel partners with the promise that we would match every dollar spent on our app in NYC from October 31—November 2 if they would provide last-minute hotel rooms to people needing shelter.

Their quick response was inspiring.

We’re pleased to announce that despite already being packed with locals needing shelter, visitors extending their stays and staff staying on-site, these top hotel partners were still able to provide over 130 rooms to HotelTonight for those impacted by Sandy over the course of these three days.
